Arsenal are interested in signing the Lyon attacker Rayan Cherki at the end of the season, and they will face competition from Manchester City.
The 21-year-old has been linked with the move away from the outfit at the end of the season, and a move to Arsenal could be interesting for him. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and they could provide him with the platform to fight for trophies.
The player has been linked with Manchester United in recent weeks. The French attacker is on the radar of Liverpool as well.
Arsenal could use more creativity and goals in the midfield as well, and the 21-year-old could be a long-term investment for them. He could be available for a fee of around £20 million in the summer.
Cherki has established himself as one of the best young players in French football, and he has the technical attributes to do well in England as well. Legendary France manager Guy Roux has described him as a player who “never makes mistakes”.
As per Fichajes, Manchester City are keen on securing his signature as well, and it will be interesting to see if they can get the deal done.
The player has 12 goals and 18 assists to his name in all competitions this season, and he has impressed in the Europa League as well. He could establish himself as a player for Arsenal or Manchester City if he joins either of them.
Manchester City will be without Kevin De Bruyne next season, and the Belgian is leaving the club in the summer. They need to replace him adequately, and the French midfielder could be the ideal replacement.
The player will look to test himself at a higher level, and moving to the Premier League could be ideal for him at this stage of his career. Regular football in England could help him develop further and fulfil his world-class potential.

Marcus Rashford has finally sealed what had been deemed his dream transfer move in the form of a season-long loan with Barcelona. Indeed, the Manchester United star had been holding out for another approach from Barcelona this summer after he held talks with them back in January, yet their precarious financial situation ultimately rendered the deal impossible. There were hopes from his side that the La Liga giants would return at the end of 2024/2025 and, when they failed in their pursuits of Nico Williams and Luis Diaz, Rashford was next on the shortlist to bolster Hansi Flick’s ranks. Marcus Rashford ends 20-year association with boyhood club Whilst he prepares to ply his trade in a new league and country for the first-ever time in his career, United fans will continue pondering why the situation had to turn so sour at Old Trafford. Rashford, born in Wythenshawe, is an academy graduate with 426 appearances and 138 goals to his name at 27. He joined the club aged seven before making his senior bow at 18, meaning he has been part of the furniture in M16 while the side has undergone rebuild after rebuild and seen off four (permanent) managers. Barcelona president Joan Laporta even admitted this week that the former No.10 had intended to stay at United until he hung up his boots, saying: “He (Rashford) is very honest, and he told me that his dream was to play at Manchester United for his entire career. “He wanted to be a one-club man. Things happened, and he wasn’t able to do that. That’s why he signed, to show that he’s still the same player he always was.” What went wrong between Rashford and Ruben Amorim? So, why has the homegrown Red been shipped out on loan? Back in December 2024, Ruben Amorim surprised the United faithful when he chose to omit both Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from his squad for the Manchester derby, citing their performances as the reason they were left out of the blockbuster clash. Garnacho would be restored to the side the following week, albeit as a substitute, but Rashford would not return, instead spending the remainder of the month watching on from the sidelines, biding his time until the January window opened, when he signed for Aston Villa for the remainder of the term. “It’s always the same reason – the training, the way I see a footballer should do in life. It’s every day, every detail,” said Amorim when pressed on his reluctance to utilise the England international. “If things don’t change, I will not change. It’s the same situation for every player, if you do the maximum and right things we can use every player. “You can see on the bench we miss a bit of pace on the bench, but I would put [Manchester United goalkeeper coach Jorge] Vital before a player who doesn’t give the maximum every day.” Barcelona will have the option of making Rashford’s transfer permanent this time next year. If they opt against it, United are back at square one.
The New York Yankees didn't come into the season with the strongest third base situation, and it only got worse over time. They converted traditional second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. to the hot corner after getting him at the Trade Deadline last season and installed a timeshare with him, DJ LeMahieu, Oswald Peraza, and Oswaldo Cabrera there in 2025. However, the latter player broke his ankle on May 12, and the Yankees released the now 37-year-old LeMahieu on July 10. Chisholm was primarily back at second at that point, so this left Peraza and Jorbit Vivas as their only true remaining third basemen. With Peraza hitting .147 and Vivas hitting .164, it was clear what the team's biggest need was. That's why it acquired veteran third baseman Ryan McMahon from the Colorado Rockies on Friday. New York manager Aaron Boone gave his thoughts about the 30-year-old before Friday's bout with the Philadelphia Phillies, via SNY. "I know there's real offensive potential there. I know he's had real offensive success, as well as some struggles there over the last calendar year or two," he said. "It seems like over the last month he's really started swinging the bat like he's capable of. He can impact the ball, he can control the strike zone, he's had some swing-and-misses that have probably hurt him a little bit." "But then he can really defend over there," he continued. "The handful of times that we've played against them that I watch him, you're like, 'That's what it should look like over there.' He moves really well and has that prototypical good third base thing." McMahon is slashing .217/.314/.403 with 16 homers and 35 RBI over 100 games this season. He also has a .978 fielding percentage and six errors. Right-handed pitcher Will Warren (6-5, 4.91 ERA) will start for the Yankees against Phillies right-hander Taijuan Walker (3-5, 3.75 ERA) on Friday.
Warning: This article contains spoilers for Happy Gilmore 2. Taylor Swift is showing her support for Travis Kelce. The singer helped promote Adam Sandler's new movie, "Happy Gilmore 2." And it just so happens that her boyfriend makes a cameo in it. While she didn't use his name specifically in the post, she did make sure to include a little shout out. "Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie! An absolute must watch, 13-10, go watch it on @netflix as soon as humanly possible ," Swift wrote on her Instagram story. That subtle reference to Kelce was the honey emoji, which alludes to his viral scene. In it, Bad Bunny's character, Oscar, is hired by Happy Gilmore as a caddy after being fired from his restaurant job by Kelce's character, The Waiter. In one scene, Sandler's character, Happy, tells Oscar to go to his "happy place," which shows The Waiter tied to a pole wearing only an apron, being covered in honey to be eaten by a bear. Sandler has praised Kelce for his acting in the movie, specifically mentioning his name along with Bad Bunny when asked about someone who surprised him. “Travis and Bunny are ridiculous in it," Sandler told PEOPLE. “Can't believe they're my buddies now." He also spoke with Entertainment Tonight about Kelce's cameo and his new friendship with the three-time Super Bowl champion. “Travis is such a gentle, nice guy, and funny as hell,” Sandler said. “He’s like the guys I grew up with. When I was with Travis, it reminded me of my buddies in high school and just being able to laugh and say the things you want to say.”
There is not a bigger sporting event in North America than the Super Bowl, and tickets are only getting more expensive every year. There is also a ridiculous secondary market for tickets where seats sell for well above the original face value. It is usually fans or ticket resellers going for a quick profit. But as was reported on Friday, sometimes it can be players in the NFL looking to make a profit. According to multiple reports, including the Associated Press and ESPN, more than 100 players are facing fines and potential suspensions for selling their allotment of tickets to this year's Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs for above face value. Players are reportedly facing fines of one-and-a-half times the face value they originally paid for the tickets, while they are also prevented from purchasing tickets to the Super Bowl for the next seasons. The Associated Press obtained a memo from the NFL detailing the violation and investigation. That memo was as follows: “Our initial investigation has determined that a number of NFL players and coaches, employed by several NFL Clubs, sold Super Bowl tickets for more than the ticket’s face value in violation of the Policy. This long-standing League Policy, which is specifically incorporated into the Collective Bargaining Agreement, prohibits League or Club employees, including players, from selling NFL game tickets acquired from their employer for more than the ticket’s face value or for an amount greater than the employee originally paid for the ticket, whichever is less. We are in the process of completing our investigation into this matter, but the investigation has revealed that club employees and players sold their tickets to a small number of ‘bundlers’ who were working with a ticket reseller to sell the Super Bowl tickets above face value.” If players are not willing to pay the fine, they could be facing suspension from the league. It seems unlikely that any of the players — none of whom have been named, or their teams — would refuse to pay such a fine. It's also one of those moments where you can say, professional athletes — they're still normal people trying to make a quick buck. The most logical answer here is perhaps some of the players caught up in this are younger players who have not yet struck it rich on a big contract or perhaps even practice squad players who are not making top dollar.
