Report – Barcelona Face Stiff Competition From Liverpool For Inter Milan & Italy Star Defender

Premier League champions Liverpool have joined Barcelona in the race to sign Inter Milan center-back Alessandro Bastoni.

According to Quotidiano Sportivo via FCInter1908, the Reds are ready to rival the Camp Nou outfit for Bastoni’s signature.

Despite their well-documented financial turmoil, Los Blaugranas have set their sights on the 26-year-old defender.

However, La Liga’s pacesetters cannot realistically hope to sign Alessandro Bastoni in January.

Indeed, Inter will not let their defensive cornerstone leave the club midway through the campaign.

Bastoni’s contract at San Siro runs out in 2028, but Inter are keen to tie him down to a new long-term deal soon.

Meanwhile, Barcelona and Liverpool are monitoring the situation.

With Ibrahima Konate set to leave Anfield as a free agent at the end of the season, the Reds need defensive reinforcements.

Though they beat Inter to Giovanni Leoni’s signature in the summer, the Italian youngster has suffered a horrendous injury.

Therefore, he has spent the entire first half of the season on the sidelines, forcing Liverpool to return to the market for a new defender.
