PSG reportedly told Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma he will not be their first choice goalkeeper this season, hoping to push him towards the Premier League.

His contract only runs to June 2026 and negotiations for an extension have hit a dead end, with the player refusing to accept a pay cut, or a formula that would make a large chunk of his salary dependent on performance.

They must sell this summer to avoid losing him as a free agent and French transfer expert Fabrice Hawkins on RMC Sport claims this evening Paris Saint-Germain have taken an extra step to push him out.

Donnarumma told to find a new club

That came from informing Donnarumma that he would not be their first choice goalkeeper, as Lucas Chevalier is set to arrive from LOSC.

They hope that the Italian will not be willing to sit on the bench for the whole campaign and therefore more likely to accept a proposal from the Premier League.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are the clubs most interested in his services.

It is turning into a battle of wills, as it is not the first time that Donnarumma has had to fight for the gloves in Paris, and he could be prepared to do it again.
