Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has not asked Inter Milan for a transfer despite persistent links with Galatasaray.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

It is certainly no secret that Galatasaray have set their sights on Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

Reportedly, the Turkish champions have offered the 31-year-old a contract worth €10 million net per season.

That will certainly be tempting for Calhanoglu. As is the chance to play for a club that he’s always admitted he has a longtime support for.

Hakan Calhanoglu Hasn’t Asked Inter For Transfer Amid Galatasaray Links

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Galatasaray are essentially relying on Hakan Calhanoglu himself to get a deal moving.

The Istanbul giants are ready to make an offer of around €15 million to Inter. However, this would be nowhere near the €35-40 million that the Nerazzurri want.

Nevertheless, things could change if Calhanoglu himself asks for the move.

Inter will certainly have to sit down at the negotiating table if the former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder makes it clear to them behind the scenes that he wants to join Galatasaray.

However, reports the Corriere, Calhanoglu has not asked for a move. At least not yet.

And for their part, Inter don’t want to wait too long. If the Turk is going to ask for the move, they would expect him to do so soon. That way, they can move quickly for a replacement.
