New Inter Milan manager Cristian Chivu has reportedly reiterated his wish to sign his former Parma pupil Giovanni Leoni.
However, per Corriere della Sera via FCInterNews, Leoni’s arrival depends on the future of Yann Bisseck.
Cristian Chivu has earmarked the 18-year-old as an ideal defensive reinforcement.
Furthermore, the youngster perfectly fits Inter’s new transfer policy.
Indeed, he’s young, talented, and offers a substantial resale value, ticking all the boxes for the type of player Oaktree wants to recruit.
Despite Inter’s genuine interest in the €30m-rated starlet, there’s a catch.
After draining most of their summer budget, Inter must offload at least one first-team star to make room for Giovanni Leoni.
With that in mind, Bisseck’s future intertwines with the young gun’s fate.
Operating on a tight budget, Inter must cash in on the German defender before bidding for Leoni.
Otherwise, they cannot meet Parma’s valuation.
Then, there’s another option in the form of Benjamin Pavard. The Frenchman could be on his way out.
Now that Davide Frattesi is no longer up for sale, Inter must sacrifice another first-team piece to raise funds.
