Inter Milan are close to agreeing a new four-year contract extension with midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nigerian will sign a new deal until the end of June 2029.

20-year-old midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro spent last season on loan with Sampdoria.

The Nigerian joined the Ligurians on loan last summer. This is is first regular experience in senior football.

Akinsanmiro had previously impressed in Inter’s Under-19 or Primavera team. This had earned him some matchday squad appearances last season, and a cameo substitute appearance against Lecce.

Inter had beaten the likes of Real Madrid and Benfica to Akinsanmiro’s signature.

However, prior to this season the priority was to get Akinsanmiro regular playing time.

Therefore, Sampdoria emerged as the ideal destination for the 20-year-old to start finding his feet in the senior game.
