Behind the scenes, Inter Milan are convinced that midfielder Petar Sucic will make an instant impact under Cristian Chivu.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan have already made a couple notable signings this summer. Among these is 21-year-old Croatian international Petar Sucic.
The Nerazzurri actually wrapped up a deal for the Croat all the way back in February. However, he stayed at Dinamo Zagreb until the end of the season just gone.
Sucic is only 21 years old. Therefore, he is hardly the kind of veteran profile that the Nerazzurri have often targeted in recent years.
However, at the same time, Sucic is already a full Croatian international. He regularly starts for his national team.
And the Gazzetta report that Inter believe that Sucic has exactly the right qualities to bolster their midfield.
The Croat has the physicality and defensive instincts to play deeper in midfield. That is an area where there are some doubts about the future – so he could be a long-term solution there.
However, for the here and now, Sucic also gives Inter’s midfield certain qualities it lacks.
The 21-year-old has the strength and technical ability to hold onto the ball in tight spaces. And also to drive up the pitch with it.
And in the final third, Sucic has proven a regular source of goals and assists for Dinamo.
Therefore, reports the Gazzetta, Sucic is a player who Inter believe can be the linchpin of their midfield under Cristian Chivu.
