Report – Inter Milan Expanding Search For New Forward Amid Stalled Talks Over Atalanta Talisman

Inter Milan are desperate to land Atalanta star Ademola Lookman, but they’re preparing for the worst-case scenario.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, they’ve started expanding their search for a new forward.

With Atalanta reluctant to lower their claims, Ademola Lookman may not sign for the Nerazzurri this summer.

Despite agreeing on personal terms with the San Siro club, the 27-year-old is still far away from Milan.

Indeed, another season at the Gewiss Stadium is becoming a distinct possibility for the Nigerian ace.

New coach Cristian Chivu is keen to bolster his attacking options, as he aims to change Inter’s formation next term.

With the Nerazzurri set to switch from a 3-5-2 to a 3-4-2-1, Chivu wants to sign a versatile forward.

Therefore, Inter have spent the best part of the summer trying to lure Lookman away from Bergamo.

However, talks with Atalanta have always been complicated.

As such, the Serie A runners-up are exploring other avenues.

Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho and Chelsea flop Christopher Nkunku are on Inter’s radar.

While the latter commands an affordable €20 million price tag, the latter’s valuation could prove prohibitive for the Nerazzurri.
