Inter Milan center-forward Marcus Thuram is reportedly on the verge of making his long-awaited return from injury.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the French superstar has regained full fitness.
Marcus Thuram suffered a hamstring injury during Inter’s 3-0 demolition of Slavia Prague in late September.
Therefore, he has been on the sidelines for 40 days, depleting Cristian Chivu’s attacking options.
However, the 28-year-old could make his first competitive appearance in over a month when Inter face Kairat Almaty tomorrow.
Ange-Yoan Bonny and Francesco Pio Esposito have been nothing short of exceptional during Thuram’s lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Furthermore, the latter looks set to spearhead Inter’s attack against Kairat tomorrow night, perhaps at the expense of Lautaro Martinez.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri skipper has recently struggled with fatigue, forcing Cristian Chivu to give him some rest.
Meanwhile, Thuram could come off the bench, with Chivu reluctant to risk his talismanic forward ahead of a crunch Serie A clash against Lazio.
As such, the Frenchman could regain his starting berth next weekend at the Stadio Olimpico.
