Inter Milan and Francesco Pio Esposito have both firmly rejected interest from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews. They report that the Germans sought out the 20-year-old as a replacement for Benjamin Sesko.
Francesco Pio Esposito has caught plenty of attention with his form in recent months.
The young striker enjoyed an explosive season on loan with Spezia last campaign. He scored an eye-watering nineteen goals in Serie B for the Ligurian club.
Then, Pio Esposito had a starring role for Inter at the Club World Cup earlier this summer.
Therefore, the 20-year-old has earned a place in the Nerazzurri senior squad for the upcoming season.
Pio Esposito has also attracted plenty of transfer interest, however.
There have been a number of clubs in Serie A who have sought to sign the young striker on loan. Meanwhile, Napoli had pushed to sign him outright.
Then, RB Leipzig have also eyed up a deal for Pio Esposito.
The Germans just completed a big money sale of striker Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United.
Therefore, Leipzig are looking for a striker with a similar profile to replace the Slovenian.
Pio Esposito is one striker who Leipzig approached. However, both Inter and the player himself have firmly rejected the idea.
