Inter Milan are ready for any scenario surrounding Denzel Dumfries and his €25 million release clause.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the club is prepared for any outcome, though they’d ideally keep hold of the Dutchman.

Despite extending the 29-year-old’s contract only last summer, Inter may have made a grave mistake.

They included a bizarre exit clause in the agreement, exposing themselves to a massive risk.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri could lose Denzel Dumfries for a fee well below his current market value.

Dumfries’ release clause is valid until the end of the month.

Furthermore, his agent, Jorge Mendes, has already offered his client to Barcelona and Manchester City.

Therefore, Inter’s recklessness could now come back to haunt them.

A €25m price tag is a bargain for a player of Dumfries’ quality.

As such, Inter must be ready for serious interest in the coming weeks.

While Luis Henrique could be a decent replacement, it’s hard to exclude further reinforcements.

Indeed, should foreign clubs seize this cut-price opportunity, Inter may need to respond swiftly in the transfer market.
