Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly ready to spend big this summer to complete the signing of Roma midfielder Manu Kone.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri have already allocated around €40 million for the French star.
Inter made a feeble attempt to lure Manu Kone away from the Stadio Olimpico last summer.
However, Roma quickly turned down Inter’s approach, with Gian Piero Gasperini deeming the 24-year-old ‘non-transferable.’
Unfazed by Roma’s firm stance, Cristian Chivu’s side will make a new bid for the former Borussia Monchengladbach ace at the end of the season.
Chivu has earmarked Kone as his top midfield target for the summer.
Meanwhile, Beppe Marotta appears to be willing to fulfill his manager’s wish, with Inter preparing a mega-money offer for the Frenchman.
Despite rarely splashing out massive figures under Marotta, the Nerazzurri must open their checkbook this summer.
Indeed, the club could part ways with several midfielders in the coming months.
In addition to Davide Frattesi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Calhanoglu could also depart the club.
Calhanoglu’s potential exit would leave a huge hole in the middle of the park, with Kone emerging as a top candidate to fill the void.
