Inter Milan will sign Roma loanee Nicola Zalewski permanently this summer after a decent six-month loan at San Siro.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri will soon trigger a buyout clause.
Inter signed Nicola Zalewski on a short-term loan in January.
Despite a lack of regular first-team football and several injury setbacks, the 23-year-old enjoyed some bright moments.
Indeed, he played a pivotal role in Inter avoiding defeat against arch-rivals AC Milan on his debut.
Meanwhile, he opened his Nerazzurri account in a 2-0 win at Torino toward the end of the season.
As aforementioned, Zalewski had not always been Simone Inzaghi’s first option on the flank.
However, Inter appreciate his versatility and tactical intelligence and want to keep him on board.
Therefore, they will fork out the €6 million needed to activate a buyout clause in their loan agreement with Roma.
Zalewski could prove a valuable asset, especially after Federico Dimarco’s form fell off a cliff in the second half of last season.
Indeed, the Poland international and Carlos Augusto are the only senior backup options for the Italian wingback.
