Inter Milan have reportedly slammed the door on a €50 million offer from Chelsea for defender Alessandro Bastoni.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni has grown into one of the most highly-regarded centre-backs in European football.
The 26-year-old is a key player in the Inter starting eleven.
Having instantly won the trust of Antonio Conte in the 2019-20 season, Bastoni has been one of the Nerazzurri’s top players under Conte and Simone Inzaghi.
Meanwhile, Cristian Chivu will certainly also want to be able to count on the Italy international.
Bastoni was named as the 2024-25 Serie A defender of the season.
In the meantime, though, it is not as though Bastoni doesn’t have suitors in the transfer market.
The Gazzetta dello Sport report that Premier League giants Chelsea have sounded out a move.
The Blues are keen to reinforce in defense. All the moreso after a serious knee injury to England international defender Levi Colwill.
Therefore, the Gazzetta report, Chelsea put an offer worth €50 million on the table for Bastoni.
However, Inter’s response to this bid was abundantly clear.
The Nerazzurri do not consider Bastoni to be for sale. Therefore, they slammed the door on the offer.
