Marcus Thuram will miss the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup showdown between Inter Milan and Urawa Red Diamonds.

Per Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the French center-forward suffered a hamstring injury during last night’s draw against CF Monterrey.

As if losing Denzel Dumfries to a muscle problem before the game wasn’t troubling enough, Inter took another hit at the Rose Bowl.

Indeed, Marcus Thuram replaced Sebastiano Esposito midway through the second half, only to pick up a new injury.

Thuram endured an injury-hit 2024/25 season, yet his fitness issues continue to haunt him in the post-season.

With Inter not taking Marko Arnautovic to the Club World Cup, Cristian Chivu could have a full-blown attacking crisis on his hands.

Indeed, Thuram’s absence would derail Inter’s already-depleted options in the final third.

For context, it would leave only the Esposito brothers as potential partners to Latuaro Martinez.

Meanwhile, Inter must beat Urawa on Saturday to increase their chances of progressing from Group E.

After a 1-1 draw against Monterrey, they must treat both remaining group fixtures as a ‘must-win.’
