Report – Inter Milan Turn To Genoa Head Coach After Cesc Fabregas Rejected San Siro Move

Inter Milan have resumed contact with Genoa head coach Patrick Vieira after Cesc Fabregas turned down a transfer to Lombardy.

Per DAZN via FCInterNews, the Frenchman is now in pole position to fill the managerial vacancy at San Siro.

Simone Inzaghi bid farewell to the Nerazzurri yesterday, leaving a huge gap in the dugout after four impressive years.

Therefore, Beppe Marotta is busy finding a suitable replacement for the Scudetto-winning manager.

Cesc Fabregas had been the club’s first choice, yet the 38-year-old has declined Inter’s proposal to stay at Como.

Despite his iconic status as a player, Vieira has not had much success as a manager.

After a disastrous episode at Crystal Palace, he had a decent short-term stint at Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

Though he helped the Griffins keep hold of their Serie A status, his defensively-minded football has often raised eyebrows.

Therefore, this selection seems a bit awkward. However, market opportunities are at a premium.

Parma’s Cristian Chivu could be another option for Inter, while Thiago Motta is no longer a viable candidate for the job.
