Davide Frattesi is reportedly heading toward a contract renewal at Inter Milan after deciding against leaving San Siro.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Cristian Chivu’s arrival has convinced the Italian star to change his mind.

Simone Inzaghi had never truly trusted the 25-year-old enough to make him a permanent first-team fixture.

Despite blocking his January exit, the former Inter boss often used him as a substitute.

Therefore, Davide Frattesi was desperate to leave the club for regular first-team action.

Davide Frattesi Set for Contract Renewal at Inter Milan

After Inzaghi’s exit, the situation has changed.

Indeed, Chivu views the ex-Sassuolo midfielder as a valuable asset and is willing to hand him a more prominent role.

Furthermore, Frattesi’s new status at San Siro warrants a contract renewal.

His current deal runs out in 2028 and is worth around €2.8 million net per season.

However, the Serie A runners-up are keen to tie him down to a new contract.

It would see his annual wages increase by approximately €1m as Inter look to kick Napoli out of the picture.
