Sassuolo have reportedly rejected Sunderland’s opening offer for their star winger, Armand Laurienté, but the player wants to move to the Premier League.
Sassuolo have rejected an opening offer from Sunderland for their star winger Laurienté, but the Frenchman is willing to leave this summer after contributing to the Neroverdi’s return to Serie A last season.
Sassuolo News reports that new Sunderland director Florent Ghisolfi is strongly interested in the 26-year-old winger, so the two clubs remain in talks despite an opening offer rejected by the Neroverdi.
According to the report, Laurienté wants to leave Sassuolo and move to the Premier League.
The French winger had already expressed a desire to leave the club last summer, following their relegation to Serie B. However, Sassuolo persuaded him to stay, and Laurienté contributed to their promotion to Serie A by becoming the top scorer and the 2024-25 Serie B MVP.
His contract at the Mapei Stadium expires in June 2027.
