Liverpool have reportedly shown a “concrete interest” in signing Inter Milan linked Parma defender Giovanni Leoni.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews. They report, however, that there are not yet club-to-club talks between Liverpool and Parma.
All eyes are on Parma defender Giovanni Leoni. The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the outstanding defenders in Serie A before even turning twenty.
Leoni had already caught Inter’s eye last summer. However, they failed to get a deal done with Sampdoria for him as Parma instead signed the young defender.
But Leoni’s performances last season truly solidified Inter’s interest. Not least after Inter appointed Cristian Chivu as coach from Parma.
And in the meantime, reports SportItalia, Liverpool have also shown an interest in Leoni’s signature.
According to the broadcaster, the Reds have a “concrete” interest in signing the 19-year-old.
However, as of yet, SportItalia report, Liverpool have not directly approached Parma to begin talks to sign Leoni.
Meanwhile, SportItalia anticipate, Inter would have to make sales before they are able to afford a move to sign Giovanni Leoni from Parma this summer.
