Napoli could reportedly rival Inter Milan to sign Ademola Lookman after selling Giacomo Raspadori to Atletico Madrid.
This according to Italian outlet Gazzetta.it. They report that the Partneopei may return to the negotiating table after the windfall of the big sale.
Inter Milan’s pursuit of Ademola Lookman has become the transfer soap opera of the summer.
The Nigerian international has done everything he can to push for the move. He has not been in training for over a week, having made a very public transfer request last weekend.
Meanwhile, Atalanta have rejected two bids from the Nerazzurri. Most recently an offer worth €45 million with add-ons.
So far, Lookman himself has made clear that he is only interested in joining Inter.
However, some other clubs have shown an interest in the 27-year-old’s signature.
Atletico Madrid have been one of these clubs. However, the Colchoneros moved on to signing Napoli forward Giacomo Raspadori.
However, having completed the sale of Raspadori, Napoli themselves could reignite their interest in Lookman’s signature.
The Partenopei had already shown interest earlier in the summer.
Furthermore, the Gazzetta note, Napoli are willing to offer Lookman a deal worth €5 million net per season. That would be more than Inter are offering on a contract.
