Napoli have asked for information about Manchester City player Matheus Nunes, whilst sporting director Giovanni Manna has reportedly opened talks with the Portuguese star’s agent Jorge Mendes.
According to what has been reported by Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira on X, the Neapolitan side have submitted an enquiry to the English club for a potential deal for the versatile player.
Nunes is proficient at both right-back and central midfield and would therefore be a strong squad depth option for Antonio Conte in Naples.
Nunes has spent two years at Manchester City, after joining in a deal worth over €60 million from Wolves in 2023.
The Portuguese international has played a rotational role in Pep Guardiola’s set-up but last season found himself on the pitch 43 times in all competitions.
However, City may be open to parting ways with Nunes, who has played 244 minutes in the club’s first six games of the Premier League campaign.
Napoli signed Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne in the summer and could once again go shopping in England.
