Report – Parma Coach Set For Contract Extension At Tardini Amid Inter Milan Links

Cristian Chivu is reportedly on the verge of signing a new contract with Parma despite recent speculation linking him with Inter Milan.

Per Parma Today via FCInterNews, the Crusaders will soon hand the 44-year-old tactician a new contract.

The Romanian coach joined Parma in February and helped them secure Serie A survival in 2024/25.

Despite penning a deal until 2026, the Emilia-Romagna outfit wants to extend his contract as quickly as possible.

Indeed, negotiations have reached ‘advanced stages,’ with Cristian Chivu ready to put ink on paper.

Chivu’s name has been on Beppe Marotta’s shortlist as Inter search for a quality replacement for Simone Inzaghi.

However, he has never been the club’s first choice.

Indeed, before rejecting a move to San Siro, Cesc Fabregas had been Marotta’s number-one priority.

With that hypothesis now off the table and Chivu set to extend his deal at Stadio Ennio Tardini, options are dwindling.

Genoa’s Patrick Vieira is now the most realistic candidate to fill the void.
