A veil of mystery surrounds the future of Bologna starlet Giovanni Fabbian amid intense Inter Milan links.
Per Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the next few months could be crucial to the 22-year-old’s hopes of returning to the San Siro.
Giovanni Fabbian swapped Inter for Bologna in the summer of 2023 on a permanent transfer.
However, the Nerazzurri included a favorable €12 million buy-back option in the agreement.
That clause will come into effect this summer.
Fabbian hasn’t been a permanent first-team fixture under Vincenzo Italiano this season.
By contrast, he has only made seven Serie A starts in Serie A.
On the bright side, the prodigious midfielder has added 15 league appearances off the bench.
Despite his relatively sparse playing time, Fabbian has registered two goals and an assist.
However, whether Inter will trigger a buy-back option remains questionable.
Indeed, much will depend on Fabbian’s performances in the rest of the season.
But with Piotr Zielinski blowing hot and cold and Hakan Calhanoglu proving prone to injuries, that’s not unimaginable.
