Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.

The 32-year-old has been linked with Saudi Arabian clubs, and it will be interesting to see if the North London outfit are prepared to sanction his departure. According to journalist Pete O’Rourke on Football Insider, Tottenham could reluctantly let him leave if it helps them balance their books.

Spurs could cash in

He said: “I think everything’s up in the air with Son right now. I’m sure the player himself is happy at Tottenham, and ideally, he would like to stay.

“But if a big offer comes in and it allows Spurs to balance the books with FFP and maybe generate funds for their own transfer plans, it’s something they would reluctantly agree to.”

Son Heung-min could be useful for Spurs

Son has been a great servant for Tottenham over the years, and losing him this summer could be a blow for the club. They need his experience and quality in the final third. Tottenham are looking to build a squad capable of winning trophies, and they will need players like him.

The 32-year-old will help create opportunities for his teammates in the final third and score goals consistently. He is capable of operating in multiple attacking roles as well. He is an indispensable asset for the club, and Tottenham will weaken their squad if they decide to let him leave.

It will be interesting to see if any club decides to come forward with an attractive offer for the player. Son is in the twilight stages of his career, and he is not going to get any better in future. However, he is one of the leaders of the Tottenham dressing room, and they should look to stick with him for now.

Tottenham already have a young squad full of talent, but they need experience and leadership as well. The South Korean could prove to be a valuable member of their next season.
