Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche this summer.
According to a report from Stretty News, they are tracking the 23-year-old attacker, and it will be interesting to see if they decide to come forward with an offer to sign him. The player is valued at €60-65 million, and therefore, he will be an expensive acquisition.
Akliouche has seven goals and seven assists in 42 matches for Monaco this past season, and he could prove to be an excellent long-term investment for Tottenham. He will add unpredictability, creativity and flair to the side. His numbers could improve when he is playing alongside quality players at the north London club.
He has been described as a “very good player” by his teammates. Spurs could nurture him into a future star if he ends up joining them.
A move to England could be ideal for his development as well. Regular football in England could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his potential. Tottenham have done well to bring talented young players in recent windows, and the 23-year-old will only improve the tremendous pool of young talent at the club.
However, it is fair to assume that the asking price could be a major problem. Tottenham need to improve multiple areas of their squad, and paying €60-65 million on the attacker could prove to be difficult. Also, Akliouche is still unproven as a talent, and no club will want to break the bank for him.
Monaco will need to be reasonable with their demands for the move to go through.
Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the attacker as well. However, the asking price will be a problem for every club. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.
