Report: Tottenham want 'huge talent' from top-four rivals who wants to play UCL football

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa during the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old has not been a regular starter for Aston Villa, and he has been linked with a move away from the club. According to TBR Football, the player would love to play in the Champions League next season, and the move to Tottenham could be an appealing option. 

“Jacob Ramsey is a huge talent, nobody has to tell Aston Villa that,” Graeme Bailey told TBR Football.

“But he is central to their plans? Maybe not, and the player knows that.

“Sometimes a move can just suit a player and a club, and this could be one of those instances.”

Tottenham need more creativity and depth in the midfield, and the 24-year-old could be the ideal acquisition. He can operate as a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder, as well as a wide player. He will help create opportunities for his teammates and score goals as well. 

The player has the technical attributes to develop into a quality Premier League performer, and Thomas Frank could get the best out of him. Him have done well to bring talented young players in recent windows, and Ramsey would be another quality acquisition.

The player will be desperate to get his career back on track with regular football, and the move to Tottenham could be ideal for him. It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa are prepared to sanction his departure. 

Newcastle United are interested in signing the midfielder as well. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can beat them to his signature. They need versatile players like Ramsey next season if they want to do well in the league and Europe.
