The Champions League could end up getting a finish to the 2019-20 campaign, after all. UEFA reportedly is considering staging a mini-tournament at a neutral site to complete the Champions League season, according to ESPN's Mark Ogden who cites sources.
It was reported in May that UEFA would be relocating this year's final from Istanbul due to coronavirus concerns in Turkey, and while it's still being considered as a potential venue, a few locations also are being looked at.
Lisbon, which has two modern stadiums in close proximity of one another, is reportedly being considered as a host site as well as Frankfurt, Germany.
UEFA are expected to make a decision when its executive committee meets later in June, according to Ogden.
The Champions League was suspended in the round of 16 due to the pandemic and Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig and Atalanta are the four sides who have qualified for the quarterfinals.
