According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, West Ham remain the leading contender to sign Douglas Luiz, despite Juventus still being unconvinced by the Hammers’ offer.

Juventus are preparing for Douglas Luiz’s sale after an unconvincing debut season at the Allianz Stadium.

West Ham still leading Douglas Luiz race

Tuttosport reported earlier this week that the Old Lady were not convinced by West Ham’s proposal to sign the Brazilian on a paid loan deal with an option to buy.

Wednesday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport on page seven confirms that West Ham are trying to persuade Juventus to accept a €10m loan deal until the end of the season, plus an option to buy between €25m and €30m.

The pink paper also confirms a recent interest from Everton.

Juventus’ asking price for Douglas Luiz

Douglas Luiz formally joined Juventus for €50m from Aston Villa last summer, even if the cash fee paid by the Bianconeri was €28m after Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling Junior’s move to Villa Park.

Juventus value Douglas Luiz at €40m, but the Bianconeri will be forced to lower their demands if they don’t receive convincing offers in the coming weeks.
