Report: Zlatan Ibrahimovic to sign new contract with AC Milan until June 2022

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly hitching his wagon to AC Milan for another year.

According to Fabrizio Romano of Sky Sports, Ibrahimovic is set to sign a new contract with Milan until June 2022. The Swedish striker will turn 40 in October.

Ibrahimovic has spent the last two seasons with AC Milan after stints with Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and the L.A. Galaxy. He also spent time with the club from 2010-12.

In 16 games this season, Ibrahimovic has 15 goals and one assist, which is higher than his point total from the 2019-20 campaign.

AC Milan is second in Serie A behind Inter Milan with 63 points. Signing Ibrahimovic into 2022 will allow the club to remain competitive with the league's best teams, including Inter Milan, Juventus, Atalanta and Napoli.
