LaLiga side Sevilla are reportedly interested in striking a deal with Bayer Leverkusen for forward Sardar Azmoun, who is currently out on loan in Serie A with Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
Azmoun joined the Giallorossi on loan from Bayer Leverkusen with an option to buy for around €12.5m at the end of August, but he has failed to cement himself as a starting option at the Stadio Olimpico.
Despite his 13 appearances in Serie A this season, Azmoun has not yet started for Roma in any competitions, racking up just 258 minutes across the league and Coppa Italia.
Now, according to an exclusive from transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Sevilla have made an approach to Bayer Leverkusen to see if it is possible to terminate Azmoun’s Roma loan and send him to Spain instead.
Azmoun could still technically join a third club this season, as he did not register a competitive appearance for Bayer Leverkusen before his move to Rome.
Azmoun is expected to travel with the Iran national team to the AFC Asian Cup after Roma’s Coppa Italia quarter-final against rivals Lazio on Wednesday.
