Atalanta striker Mateo Retegui has flown to Saudi Arabia ahead of the finishing touches on his transfer to join Al-Qadsiah, reports from Italy claim.

The Italian striker had been the subject of much speculation after finishing the 2024-25 Serie A campaign as top scorer.

The Saudi club, however, emerged as leaders in the race and look set to complete a big-money deal for the 26-year-old.

The details of Retegui’s move to Al-Qadsiah

According to what has been reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, the deal finally looks set for completion – after being slowed down in recent days due to the bureaucratic processes of the Saudi Pro League.

The Saudi side will pay Atalanta a fee believed to be in the region of €68.5 million, with €3.7 million of that owed to previous clubs in the Italian’s career.

Retegui is set to earn a reported wage of around €20 million per season, with estimates projecting he will be making eight times what he was in Bergamo last season. After a big season for La Dea, Retegui has been rewarded – whilst he has also been warned this move may impact his chances of being selected for the Italian national team.
