Inter Milan talisman Hakan Calhanoglu was the subject of intense speculation in the summer as Galatasaray tried to lure him to Istanbul.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Turkish club’s attempt to sign the 31-year-old never stood a chance.

In addition to Galatasaray, Fenerbahce were reportedly keen to capture the midfielder’s signature.

However, Inter’s asking price blew both Super Lig giants out of the water.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri slapped a substantial €30 million price tag on their talismanic playmaker.

Though Inter were reportedly ready to listen to offers for Hakan Calhanoglu, they refused to budge on their valuation.

Reluctant to fork out such a significant figure, Galatasaray switched their attention to Ilkay Gundogan.

On the other hand, Calhanoglu continues to thrive at San Siro.
