Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi works tirelessly to turn his side’s fortunes around amid a mini-crisis in Serie A.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, Inzaghi is keen to improve two crucial aspects of Inter’s game.

For starters, Inter have become dependable on Hakan Calhanoglu.

Since swapping allegiances at the San Siro, Calhanoglu has established himself as the beating heart of Inzaghi’s midfield.

However, the Turks’ form has plummeted this season as a result of niggling injury problems.

Therefore, reinvigorating the 31-year-old is among Inzaghi’s priorities.

Inter Milan Boss Simone Inzaghi Keen to Improve Two Crucial Aspects

In addition to the Calhanoglu problem, Inter’s frontline has recently stuttered.

Marcus Thuram has been slow out of the blocks in 2025, netting only once this calendar year.

On the other hand, Lautaro Martinez had enjoyed a phenomenal start to 2025.

Yet, after scoring eight goals in eight matches, El Toro has drawn a blank in his last four league appearances.

Meanwhile, Mehdi Taremi is merely a shadow of a striker who used to tear up defenses at Porto.

Therefore, Simone Inzaghi is desperate to address these issues.

Liverpool-linked midfielder goes AWOL from training; his club are prepared to sell for £35m

One midfielder in whom Liverpool are reportedly interested may have burned his bridges with his current club after going AWOL from training in recent days. The Reds have already enjoyed a blockbuster transfer window which has seen them spend around £250m on new additions such as Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong, and speculation persists over a possible big-money swoop for Alexander Isak. The Swedish striker has fuelled the transfer fire by telling Newcastle chiefs that he wants to ‘consider his options’ this summer and asking not to travel with the Magpies’ squad for their pre-season tour to the Far East. It appears that the 25-year-old isn’t alone in being marked absent amid reported interest from Liverpool. Luiz AWOL from Juventus training amid reported Liverpool interest According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Reds have been keeping tabs on Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz, with Everton and West Ham also considering the possibility of bringing the former Aston Villa man back to the Premier League. The Brazilian failed to report for training on Thursday, with the Turin club now expected to ‘take disciplinary action’ over his unexcused absence. The Bianconeri are seemingly open to selling the 27-year-old for around €40m (£35m), and it’s claimed that his time with the Serie A outfit ‘is set to end’ before the conclusion of the summer transfer window. Liverpool have no real need to go after Luiz right now Luiz was a standout player for Aston Villa during his time in the Midlands, being voted Player of the Season two years ago by teammates and supporters, and then chipping in with nine top-flight goals in helping them to a first Champions League qualification in 2024. Former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant even proclaimed the season before last that the now-Juventus midfielder ‘can do everything’ that Declan Rice can ‘and better’ (talkSPORT), and a couple of years ago he may have seemed like the perfect transfer target for the Reds. That was at a time when we were undergoing an extensive midfield overhaul following the exits of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, James Milner and others, but right now that part of the squad is delightfully stable at Anfield. Luiz’s failure to turn up for training as reported might also be considered a red flag for FSG, and is in marked contrast to how Luis Diaz has continued to display a positive attitude behind the scenes despite reportedly wanting to leave Liverpool. The 27-year-old’s future might lie away from Turin after his recent misdemeanour, but right now it’s hard to envisage him joining the Reds. A talented player he might well be, but timing counts for a lot in football, and at present he’s not someone we drastically need.

WNBA Legend Lisa Leslie Had Three Words for Angel Reese After Sky’s 16th Loss

Now in her second WNBA season, Angel Reese is averaging a league‑leading 12.5 rebounds along with 13.8 points, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game. She recently returned from a midseason leg injury and immediately picked up where she left off, posting her 16th double‑double of the season (11 points, 11 rebounds) on Tuesday night even as her Chicago Sky fell, 91-68, to the Minnesota Lynx. Then, on Wednesday, Reese showcased her brand power on Instagram, posting a pregame photo dressed head‑to‑toe in Gucci with the caption, "Don’t worry about me… life is GUCCI @gucci #guccipartner." The image quickly lit up her feed and drew an immediate response from one of the game’s all‑time greats, WNBA legend Lisa Leslie, who commented, “Yessss it is❤️." Despite flashes of elite play, the Sky have struggled mightily through 23 games, standing at just 7-16 and sitting fifth in the Eastern Conference. Their 77.6 points per game rank 12th in the WNBA, and opponents are torching them for 86.5 a night (11th in the league). With head coach Tyler Marsh searching for consistency, every bright spot has been a welcome reprieve for a franchise that won the title as recently as 2021. Front and center among Chicago’s bright spots is Reese. Off the court, Reese has quickly built a burgeoning portfolio of endorsement deals, including Reebok, Calvin Klein, Beats by Dre, Amazon and now Gucci, underscoring her status as one of the WNBA’s brightest personalities. On the other side, you have Leslie, whose voice carries more weight than arguably anybody in women’s basketball. A three‑time league MVP, two‑time WNBA champion and Finals MVP and eight‑time All‑Star, Leslie helped define the league’s early years with the Los Angeles Sparks, including driving home the first dunk in WNBA history in 2002. A Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer (Class of 2015), she remains a global ambassador for the sport.
