Inter Milan rejected an offer worth €35-40 million from Newcastle United for Davide Frattesi late in the transfer window.

This according to Italian transfer reporter Matteo Moretto, via FCInterNews. He reports on his homepage that the offer was for an initial loan deal containing a purchase option.

Inter Milan did not necessarily receive an official bid for Davide Frattesi from Newcastle United late in the summer transfer window.

However, the Magpies did not hide their interest. They made contact with the Nerazzurri about potentially signing Frattesi.

Italian transfer reporter Matteo Moretto reports that the Magpies made a verbal offer to Inter for the former Sassuolo midfielder.

Inter Rejected €35-40M Loan Bid From Newcastle For Frattesi

Moretto reports that Newcastle made a verbal offer to Inter for a loan deal for Frattesi.

This would also contain a purchase option, which would have become an obligation under certain conditions.

The purchase option in the loan deal for Frattesi would have been worth €35-40 million, reports Moretto.

However, the transfer reporter adds, the conditions to make the option into a mandatory obligation would have been fairly difficult to meet.

Therefore, Inter had little interest in accepting the bid.
