Cristian Chivu is ready to make some tactical changes at Inter Milan, even if he sticks with the 3-5-2 formation.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908.

Inter Milan have confirmed the appointment of Cristian Chivu as their new coach.

The 44-year-old replaces Simone Inzaghi on the bench for the Nerazzurri.

Chivu will continue on with Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 formation, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, that will not be without some notable changes.

Cristian Chivu Ready To Make Tactical Changes At Inter Milan

First of all, the Gazzetta reports, the role of the midfielders could change at Inter Milan.

The midfielders on either side of the trio will have more license to get forward and attack the penalty area under Cristian Chivu, according to the newspaper.

Then, the wingbacks will not stay wide, the Gazzetta anticipate. Rather, they will have the opportunity to come more centrally.

Lastly, the Gazzetta notes, at Parma Chivu frequently played with more of a first and second striker, rather than two interchanging centre-forwards.

Therefore, that could be how the new Inter coach uses Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.
