Como manager Cesc Fabregas has never refused a chance to take charge of Inter Milan despite summer reports suggesting otherwise.

According to Gianluca DI Marzio via FCInter1908, talks between the parties were merely exploratory.

Inter had tried to lure Cesc Fabregas to San Siro at the beginning of the summer.

Indeed, the Spaniard was the club’s first choice to replace Simone Inzaghi, who switched to Al-Hilal in June.

However, negotiations with the former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder never took off.

Cesc Fabregas Never Rejected Inter Milan

Inter were one of several top teams keen to hire Fabregas in the summer.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen were the first to approach the 38-year-old, but to no avail.

Then, Roma made an attempt to sign him after Claudio Ranieri returned to retirement.

Finally, Inter held brief talks with the highly-rated manager in London to understand the situation.

However, the truth is that Fabregas never wanted to leave Como.

Moreover, the Lariani handed him a hefty summer budget to reinforce his squad.

Therefore, Inter had to turn to Cristian Chivu to fill the vacant spot in the dugout.
