Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani offered an insight into what happened between Inter Milan and Simone Inzaghi before the Champions League final.

During a video on the QSVS YouTube channel via FCInter1908, Ravezzani confirmed the words of Al-Hilal CEO Esteve Caldaza.

Earlier today, Caldaza stunned everyone close to the Nerazzurri with a shocking statement.

Indeed, he stated that Al-Hilal had struck an agreement with Simone Inzaghi to take the job days before the Munich final.

Though the news left Inter chiefs furious with the 49-year-old, they were not unprepared for such an outcome.

What Happened Between Inter Milan & Simone Inzaghi Behind the Scenes

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are among the best in business. As such, they knew something was wrong heading into the game.

Indeed, Inzaghi never played down talks of Al-Hilal’s monstrous contract proposal in those critical days.

Furthermore, the ex-Lazio manager refused to discard the possibility of moving to Saudi Arabia when confronted by Marotta.

Therefore, his exit didn’t catch the Inter leadership off guard.

Marotta was scouring the market for replacements even before the Nerazzurri left for Munich.

However, he couldn’t lure Cesc Fabregas to the San Siro and had to settle for Cristian Chivu instead.
