Jonathan David will be under the spotlight in Saturday’s Serie A high-stakes clash between Juventus and Inter Milan.

Tuttosport via FCInterNews revealed the reason behind the Canadian striker’s decision to join Juve instead of the Nerazzurri.

David had long been the subject of Inter’s interest before signing for Juventus on a Bosman deal this summer.

Indeed, the 25-year-old swapped Lille for the Allianz Stadium as a free agent and scored on his Serie A debut against Parma.

Why Jonathan David Joined Juventus Instead of Inter Milan

Inter Milan attempted to lure Jonathan David to San Siro but couldn’t reach an agreement on personal terms.

Indeed, the center-forward’s excessive wage demands put the Nerazzurri off.

Furthermore, Cristian Chivu’s side signed Ange-Yoan Bonny in the early days of the summer transfer window.

With Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram already in the squad, David would’ve likely been a backup.

Therefore, Inter couldn’t guarantee David a regular starting berth.

On the other hand, Juventus have offered him a central role in their project under Igor Tudor.

More importantly, they have agreed to meet his salary request.
