Tottenham forward Richarlison’s resurgence in form has been one of the few positives for the Lilywhites in recent weeks, as the club continues to struggle for consistent results in the Premier League. The Brazilian has rediscovered his scoring touch, playing a vital role in the final third by leading the line effectively for the North Londoners. He has looked sharp and appears to be enjoying regular minutes under Thomas Frank.
The 28-year-old has now scored five goals in his last nine appearances for Spurs across all competitions. Brimming with confidence, he is relishing the responsibility of spearheading the attack as the Lilywhites look to build on last season’s Europa League success. As the club’s top scorer this season with eight goals, Richarlison has quickly become one of the first names on the team sheet at N17.
Crucially, the Brazilian has managed to stay fit throughout the campaign. With Dominic Solanke still recovering from an ankle injury and Randal Kolo Muani struggling to find his rhythm since arriving at N17, Richarlison has seized his opportunity to establish himself as a regular starter and keep his hopes of a World Cup call-up alive.
Despite his impressive form in recent weeks, Richarlison has been strongly linked with a potential winter exit as Spurs prepare to strengthen their attack for the second half of the season. The forward has been associated with a possible return to Everton, with David Moyes keen to bring in a proven striker in January and viewing the 28-year-old as an ideal option to aid the Toffees’ push for European qualification.
However, Fabrizio Romano has hinted at a fresh twist in the transfer saga surrounding the striker. Speaking on the Men in Blazers YouTube channel, Romano highlighted the Brazilian’s firm stance:
“Richarlison’s answer has always been ‘I want to stay at Tottenham.’ He wants to play for Tottenham. So, let’s see if he decides to change his mind. He has several opportunities but his answer has always been he is happy at Tottenham. Then maybe after the World Cup, let’s see what happens.”
According to Romano, Richarlison is determined to remain at Tottenham and fight for his place at N17 during the second half of the campaign. Despite receiving several offers in recent months, the Brazilian is keen to continue working under Thomas Frank as he targets a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s World Cup squad next summer. He is currently enjoying his prominent role at the club and would only consider a move next summer if the right opportunity arises.
Spurs should avoid selling Richarlison in the coming weeks if he maintains his current level of performance. The striker is thriving under the pressure of leading the line, aware that his place in the starting eleven is not guaranteed under Thomas Frank. Allowing the 28-year-old to continue his fine form would only benefit the North Londoners as the season progresses.
Will Richarlison head for the exit door in the winter, or will the Brazilian still be a Spurs player once the January transfer window closes? Only time will tell.
