Roma were disappointing this evening and lacked a killer instinct as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Lille at the Stadio Olimpico in their Europa League tie.
An early goal from Icelandic forward Haraldsson gave the visitors a lead which they clung onto with dear life as they survived a relentless Roma assault.
Gian Piero Gasperini made a number of subs to inject life into the game, including replacing Evan Ferguson with Artem Dovbyk.
The Ukrainian forward had his chance to make his mark almost immediately, when a Lille handball gave the Giallorossi a penalty.
However, Dovbyk had not only one but two penalties saved – both of which had to be retaken due to encroachment. Matias Soule took the third penalty, which was once again saved by Lille hero Ozer.
