La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Roma have opened preliminary talks with Giacomo Raspadori’s entourage through an ‘important’ intermediary.
Roma want to sign a new striker in January, and Italy international Raspadori is the latest player linked with a move to the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma and Gasperini are long-time admirers of the Azzurri forward. The Giallorossi tried to bring him in from Napoli this past January, while Gasperini made an effort to sign him while coaching Atalanta in 2024.
Now, according to the latest Gazzetta report, Roma have opened informal talks with the striker’s agents through an important intermediary, and Raspadori has not closed the door for a possible winter move to the Olimpico.
It remains to be seen whether Atletico Madrid will be open to discussing a transfer, as Roma have yet to open talks with the La Liga giants.
Raspadori joined Atletico in a €22m plus €4m add-ons last summer, but has been struggling with playing time in 2025-26, starting just three times and collecting 291 minutes on the pitch across 11 appearances.
According to Gazzetta, Roma would consider a loan deal with an option to buy for €20-22m to sign the versatile 25-year-old striker.
