Roma host Inter Milan this weekend as Cristian Chivu faces off against his former manager, Gian Piero Gasperini.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, it will be Chivu’s second managerial clash against the veteran coach.
Cristian Chivu held Gasperini to a 1-1 draw in last season’s Serie A clash between Parma and Atalanta.
However, both managers have since moved clubs, with the 44-year-old returning to San Siro in the summer.
Meanwhile, Gasperini left Atalanta after nearly a decade to take charge of Roma.
Gian Piero Gasperini was briefly in charge of Inter Milan in 2011, but the club sacked him just a couple of months into the season.
Indeed, the 67-year-old had a large portion of the Nerazzurri dressing room turning against him.
Whether Chivu, who was still playing for Inter at the time, was involved in the unrest remains uncertain.
Nonetheless, the new Roma boss will be out to claim his revenge and deepen the gap between the sides.
Only three points separate Roma and Inter ahead of Saturday’s kick-off.
