Ronaldinho is one of the most well-known players in football history with the Brazilian famed for his professional career that saw great success.
The attacking midfielder, who is most well-known for his spell at Barcelona, has surprising links to Manchester United, however.
One of these links is through Matheus Cunha with the United forward revealing the advice that he received from the 46-year-old.
Cunha, speaking just weeks after the season had started in August, revealed how the former Barcelona player called Manchester United one of the biggest clubs in the world whilst also revealing that Ronaldinho called United an amazing club.
Now, a new link has emerged with the 46-year-old receiving a signed shirt from defender Harry Maguire as seen on the club’s official Instagram page.
The collaboration between two players is arguably surprising considering their lack of similarities in the footballing scene.
Ronaldinho, posing with the shirt (that was from one of United’s Carabao Cup games), has strengthened his links with the club through this collaboration.
It has previously been reported that the Brazilian came close to joining Manchester United, which may explain his glowing review of the club in his comments to Cunha last year.
His failed move is well documented, with him just 48 hours away from joining, although paved the way for the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo with the Red Devils turning to Sporting Lisbon (where Ronaldo was playing) to enquire about a move.
It is likely that, if Ronaldinho had joined Manchester United, Ronaldo may have never came to Old Trafford, a move that may have impacted his current career heavily.
With links between Ronaldinho and the club ever-growing, through past and present events, Manchester United may aim to collaborate more with the Brazilian in the future.
