Roy Keane has named the ten players he thinks Erik ten Hag should get rid of as the Dutchman continues to spearhead United’s attempted return to glory.
Ten Hag enjoyed a good first season, exceeding all expectations of him as his side finished third in the Premier League and ended their six-year wait for silverware.
The second campaign has not gone nearly as well as United recently suffered their 11th defeat of the season in embarrassing fashion when Bournemouth won 3-0 at Old Trafford.
Keane, a consistent critic of the club over the years, has now named ten players he thinks should be sold and there are some controversial inclusions.
The United legend has been far from impressed with some of the new arrivals, his list would suggest. According to CaughtOffside, the 52-year-old guested the Stick to Football podcast, where he delivered his scathing verdict on some of the first-team regulars.
Notably, summer arrivals Jonny Evans and Sofyan Amrabat were both on Keane’s list and he also named Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane as players the club should get rid of.
Additionally, the Ireland icon wants to see the backs of Diogo Dalot, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial and Christian Eriksen.
United are historically poor at selling and it would not be surprising to see most of the players on Keane’s list, if not all of them, remain at the club for a long time as their contracts run out.
Out of the players mentioned, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, Sofyan Amrabat and Anthony Martial are all on expiring deals.
