Roy Keane has been as critical as anyone over the issues at Manchester United in recent weeks, with his jibes continuing prior to kick off in the Manchester derby this afternoon.
This was in addition to his scathing assessment during a recent episode of The Overlap, in which he questioned the credentials of the coaching team assembled for the remainder of the season.
The Irishman never shies away from sharing his opinion on the best route for the club to take in regards to managerial appointments and it sparked debate in the studio earlier today.
Joined by Daniel Sturridge and Micah Richards, Roy Keane doubled down in questioning the experience of Jonny Evans in a coaching capacity.
The former Manchester United captain still wasn’t sure whether the club has made the right choice in bringing Evans back to the club.
And then the question was asked that many commentators online were asking.
What would Roy Keane do if Manchester United asked him to join and help the club?
Sky Sports presenter Dave Jones posed the question and asked Keane what he would do is he was hypothetically offered a job back at Old Trafford.
“What would you have done if they called you and said would you come and help?” asked Jones.
“Would I come and help Man United? It’d probably be no,” said Keane.
“I wouldn’t want to work with people above me who are dictating who your staff are, telling you what players you’re bringing in and there’s been chaos going on in the background.”
“If they [the current United coaching staff] were available next week to any club in the world would they have been headhunted? Nobody would come after them.”
It’s clear to see that there are still doubts over the leadership team at the club, as they attempt to get the club back into European competition.
The Manchester United hierarchy and coaching staff will hope that the recent comments made by Keane can be proven to be incorrect.
Michael Carrick will now look to build on a strong start as interim manager after a 2-0 victory in the Manchester derby.
