Royale Union SG 0-4 Inter Milan – Dutch Star Admits: 'I Have Big Goals, We Play To Win'

Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries outlined his high ambitions after last night’s dominant Champions League win over Royale Union SG.

Interviewed by UEFA via FCInter1908, the Dutch wingback hailed the Nerazzurri’s showing in Brussels.

Denzel Dumfries was one of the architects of Inter’s 4-0 victory at Lotto Park.

Indeed, the 29-year-old drew first blood with an opportune finish, firing the Italian giants 1-0 up in the 41st minute.

In addition to the goal, the former PSV Eindhoven ace impressed on both ends of the pitch.

Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez netted his 24th Champions League goal in the Inter shirt to put the game beyond Union’s reach.

Furthermore, Hakan Calhanoglu landed a knockout blow from the spot at the start of the second half.

Prodigious striker Francesco Pio Esposito put the cherry on top with his first Champions League goal for the Nerazzurri.

Therefore, Inter have made another crucial step toward securing automatic last-16 qualification, just as they did last season.

“We changed the game well, and it was a deserved victory,” Dumfries was adamant. “My goal came from a corner, which we had practiced in training.

“Bisseck laid it off, and I didn’t hesitate to shoot.”

Then, he admitted he had expected a stern test.

“I thought, ‘Tonight will be tough.’

“Indeed, they were very physical and played a lot of balls into the box.

“They did it very well, but after a while, we took control of the game, found our rhythm, and managed the spaces.

“They have a good team and need to keep going like this.”

“For us, it’s very important not to concede goals.”

Finally, Dumfries confirmed Inter’s ambition to reach another Champions League final.

“We have our objectives and know how to reach the final,” he stated. “I always have big goals.

“We always play to win.”
