Cristian Chivu steadied Italy starlet Sebastiano Esposito just before a goal as Inter Milan ran riot against Royale Union SG.

According to Sky Sport via FCInter1908, the 44-year-old played a vital role in keeping the young striker composed in the second half.

Francesco Pio Esposito netted his maiden Champions League goal in a 4-0 demolition of the Belgian side last night.

However, the 20-year-old had to wait until the 76th minute for his long-awaited breakthrough.

Esposito set up Lautaro Martinez for Inter’s second goal on the stroke of halftime.

Yet, the prodigious center-forward was still under pressure to get on the scoresheet himself.

That’s where Chivu came into play.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri coach called Esposito over from the bench and reassured him, saying, “It’s fine, don’t worry.”

Little did anyone know that Esposito would put the ball into the back of the net moments later.

Meanwhile, French center-forward Ange-Yoan Bonny chipped in with an assist off the bench.
