Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has reportedly been given the final say on what happens next with one member of his squad.
The summer transfer window has closed for several major European leagues, though it’s still open in some other parts of the world.
Even with the window shut in Europe, United can still move on players who aren’t in Amorim’s plans, with options available in leagues where the market remains open.

Amorim was able to reshape his squad this summer, bringing in five new faces and making significant changes to the existing roster.
Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund and Jadon Sancho have all gone out on loan, while Alejandro Garnacho and Antony have left on permanent deals.
Tyrell Malacia was not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans heading into the new season, and nothing has changed since. The 26-year-old left-back was up for sale in the summer and still doesn’t have a role to play.
The 26-year-old former Netherlands international came back to Old Trafford in July after finishing a disappointing six-month loan spell with PSV Eindhoven in June.
There were talks linking him with a move to Elche, and it looked like he might join them on loan late in the window. However, the deal fell through due to issues over a permanent clause.
According to The Athletic, negotiations hit a snag over whether there would be an option or an obligation to buy included in the agreement.
Now, as reported by ESPN, United remain open to moving Malacia this month and are still looking for possible destinations before his contract runs out next year.
Amorim has previously said he’s open to bringing first-team players back into the fold if they end up staying past the transfer window.
Even with Amorim holding the reins, United haven’t given up on moving Malacia. They’re still exploring options in markets where the window remains open.
Talks regarding Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia's prospective loan to Elche have collapsed.

According to ESPN, United have now handed over the ‘final decision’ on Malacia to Amorim, leaving it up to him to decide what happens next.
The club is reportedly willing to let him join a league that’s still accepting new signings, keeping their options open for a potential move.
