Manchester United may be looking to strengthen their attack, but Ruben Amorim’s attention is also turning toward the goalkeeping situation.

This could prove an important week for Manchester United.

United face Leeds United in Sweden next weekend, and Ruben Amorim will be eager to have more new faces in place before then.

Matheus Cunha arrived from Wolverhampton Wanderers early in the window but remains the only addition up front so far.

Amorim is still looking to add more goals to his side, with Bryan Mbeumo the club’s top priority at the moment.

With Andre Onana sidelined by injury, questions remain over who will start in goal. That’s something Amorim will need to sort out soon.

Millwall interested in loan deal for Man United’s Radek Vitek

With Onana now expected to miss the start of the Premier League campaign, Altay Bayindir’s future is also up in the air, as his agent has discussed a potential move away.

This might force United to keep hold of Bayindir for now, at least until they can bring in another option between the posts.

Radek Vitek’s situation will need a closer look too. The Czech goalkeeper has just returned from a strong loan spell in Austria with Blau-Weiss Linz and could be another internal solution.

There’s belief within the club that Vitek can reach a top level, as goalkeeping coach Tommy Lee said, but it’s still unclear where he fits into Amorim’s plans this season.

Millwall fell short of the play-offs last season and are hoping to push into the top six under Alex Neil this time around.

A new goalkeeper is high on their list, and Vitek is among the options they’re looking at ahead of the new season, according to The Sun.

Radek Vitek should be on Ruben Amorim’s radar this summer

Onana’s injury could force a change of plans, and Amorim is likely to give Vitek a closer look during pre-season.

The 6ft 6in goalkeeper arrived from Sigma Olomouc in 2020 but is still waiting for his first appearance with the senior side.

Vitek has already built up loan experience in both the EFL and Europe, following a similar path to fellow Czech keeper Matej Kovar.

Kovar was sold to Bayer Leverkusen in 2023, but with Onana sidelined and Bayindir potentially on his way out, Vitek deserves an opportunity to prove how far he has come.

Amorim might still decide another loan is best for Vitek, but that call should only be made after he’s had a fair look during pre-season matches.
