Leny Yoro played a decent role under former Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim.
The Portuguese head coach utilised a back-three system that didn’t prove astute at Old Trafford, but Yoro was often deployed on the right of those centre-back spots.
Both Amorim and Yoro have since seen their prominence wane at Manchester United. The former was sacked by the club in January 2026, while Yoro has struggled to make an impact since the arrival of new boss Michael Carrick.
Since his Manchester United exit, Ruben Amorim has been appointed as manager at Serie A side AC Milan.
Yoro could end up reuniting with his former boss, according to Tuttosport, as Amorim is interested in signing Leny Yoro for the Italian giants.
The outlet reports that Amorim met with AC Milan’s senior figures on Saturday in downtown Milan for a five-hour meeting and discussed transfer targets.
One to “keep an eye on” is Leny Yoro and AC Milan, which could end up becoming a breaking story as the end of the transfer window draws closer.
It will likely take Manchester United persuading to sell the huge asset that is the 20-year-old, but Michael Carrick opting for other players in recent lineups could hint at an exit.
The Red Devils secured Yoro in 2024 with a lucrative contract despite the likes of Real Madrid sniffing around the young prospect, but the Frenchman’s time in Manchester has not lived up to its huge promise just yet.
Amorim and AC Milan could be an exciting proposition for Yoro, but United should keep hold of their future star for now.
As they look to build for a big season in the Premier League and in the Champions League, United need all the squad depth they can get. Selling Yoro would be a big setback late on with Tuesday’s deadline drawing closer.
